This was purchased to use as a side table in our cabana. It's a great addition to our outdoor, covered area and works well as a table situated between two adirondack chairs. The height is about right although it might have been a little better if it were a little bit taller however, we knew before purchasing that it wasn't going to have much height. We did put a sealer on it before introducing it to the outside as our Texas heat/weather seems to be awfully hard on things left out-of-doors for any length of time. So far so good and it does add a great conversation piece to outdoor décor. We really like it!!

The item description says that these bookends have nonskid rubber feet. Mine did not come equipped with anything resembling a nonskid surface. Bare metal on my glass shelves limits their usefulness. I'll probably end up buying some kind of nonskid applique at the hardware store, but I shouldn't have to bear the extra expense.

Bookends are sturdy enough to hold books in place. The non-skid surface prevents scratching our wood library bookshelves. They are definitely a good value for the price.

I have ordered these again and again. They work the way they should but they will bend over with oversize books if over about 20 lbs leans against. This might be solved by doubling up on book ends.
