A glass with great balance

I would definitely buy these again. All 4 glasses arrived unbroken (sold and shipped by Amazon). For less than $7 per glass this is a very nice balance of elegance and function. They feel good in the hand, hold 8-3/4 ounces, and have a nice heft and durability. I like the relatively slender dimensions: 4" diameter mouth, 3" deep bowl, 3" diameter foot, 7.5" overall height. The narrow bowl helps keep the drink in your mouth, not on the table. Most other 8-9 ounce glasses seem to have a 4.5" diameter mouth and 2.5" deep bowl and are a little too wide and shallow for my taste. Build quality on these is good. I have seen maybe 1 out of 8 come out of the box with a very slight lack of smoothness in one spot at the rim, but that was very slight, probably never noticed by any of our guests, and never any wobble at the base. These are heavy enough to last a while with normal abuse and washing. Over time I eventually broke or chipped my first set of 4. I tried using our other standby martini glasses for a while, such as Martha Stewart's Waterman and Bormioli Ypsilon, but I eventually had to put those away and get myself 4 more of these Michelangelo's because they simply elevate the quality of the martini experience for me.

Perfectly Balanced!

These martini glasses are so perfectly balanced that you can pick it up and sip your martini without spilling it! WOW! No more sloshed over vodka in a top heavy glass! The glass is so thin, yet sturdy. For me the drink is all about the glass and this is so simple and elegant... my favorite! And dishwasher safe! I first encountered this glass at a high end cocktail lounge and asked management to get me the brand so I could locate and purchase some for myself. I am familiar with Bormioli brand and already owned some of their glassware. Finding these glasses on Amazon was a snap! If you're a martini or Manhattan fan you won't be disappointed! Enjoy!

Perfect martini glass

These martini glasses are the perfect shape and size. Many sizable martini glasses are soup bowls on a stem, but these have steeper sides which makes them easy to drink out of and harder to spill. Even though they are '8.75 oz' the max they fit well is 4.5 to 5 ounces of liquor (three ounces of gin, one of vodka, and half of Lillet Blanc if you will) and a garnish. They are reasonably thin and light, with none of the discoloration at the thick parts of the stem that mars low quality glass. They are dishwasher safe, but they don't really fit in my dishwasher so I have to hand wash them. I recommend buying these with Set of 6 Stainless Steel Martini Picks and Casino Royale: A James Bond Novel (James Bond Novels, Book 1)
