Extremely pleased...

I was very nervous ordering this product online without seeing it in a store. I'd looked high and low for something similar both in high-end stores and discount stores without luck. The wood is a bit darker than the picture, but otherwise I have been extremely pleased....it's exactly what I wanted! It came very well packaged which was a definite concern of mine. It's well built, practical and other than being slightly darker than expected, it's perfect. If you're looking for a well-built console table with a good amount of storage, I would hightly recommend this product!

Nice Furniture, careful who you order from

I bought this console in 2010 from Moshya Home Furnishings. It's a really nice console sofa table, good size. Wish the gap underneath was a little higher so my Roomba could fit under is but I "fixed" it by putting blocks under it. I used the baskets for shoes. I was worried about scratching the bottom shelf up so I found brown squishy shelf linear material to put there - works real well. I do a little stained glass work so I plan to replace the glass in the doors with my own work. Glass is in there with pressed in rubber seals so holds well (no rattles) but will be easy to remove and replace. Another item of note is the finish is darker than in the picture - I would describe it as espresso; brown but close to black. It has a nice satin finish. It wipes down well and I know there because we keep dog supplies (i.e. leashes, treats, brushes - all things they love) in the two center drawers. The dogs get excited every time we open these drawers and put their snotty noses all over the edges. But like I said, wipes down nicely.

The down side is it did arrive with a little damage - a hairline crack in one of the wood of the side doors and a scuff on a corner. I asked Moshya Home Furnishings if they could track down a replacement door for me. After months of back and forth emails; me explaining the damage and asking for a door; them saying they were working to find me one - I got nothing. Right around the time they stopped responding, the window for vendor review on product delivery had closed. Convenient for them. So lesson learned. If you order furniture and it arrives damage, don't try to be helpful by just requesting a replacement part - just send the whole thing back and try again.

Damage and Blemish Issues

While unpacking the first unit, we discovered a massive 18" split in the wood. It did not appear to be shipping related, but a defect in the quality of the material of the unit. Amazon's amazing product return policy kicked in and a new unit was shipped that day.

Unfortunately, the replacement unit has several blemish marks and also what appears to be small, triangular dents in the surface. Almost as if they were purposely applied. We decided not to return the unit, but to repair the blemishes with furniture touch up material. The result was acceptable, but still noticeable.

We would not order this type of furniture again and opt to use a local furniture store.
